“Muskrat’s story time ”

The seven grandfather teachings

Muskrat, although small in size, and more playful than physically ‘magnificent’ upon a first glance, was in contrast, the brave being that would  dive down through the crushing depths of the deep and ever-lasting water world. Muskrat brought the earth up from the dark watery depths. This is the beginning of just one of our Cree creation stories. There can and will be  subtleties depending on the geographic territory and story of the messenger. Here, our sacred beings have gathered. Muskrat has brought together the seven sacred beings that carry our seven sacred grandfather teachings. Sasquatch the symbol of honesty, often mysteriously questioned and feared is laying in amongst the living and vibrating land and environment. Clearly there is a electric and visual vibration that has been delivered from the background cosmos, and splitting of the sacred tree, by an incredible strike of lightning. The story is loud and dramatic, but fun and fantastic. Here, sasquatch cannot help but put his mischief aside and surrender to community time and is playfully laughing at muskrat as muskrat shares the amazing and beautiful story of creation. The mother bear, symbol of courage, sits bravely and protects her friends and family. The eagle screams the story themes of love. The buffalo, symbol of respect, sits and listees carefully while he rests. The wolf, humbly rest and listens as she prepares to fuel her aching stomach.  7 baby turtles follow their parents guidance and gather to witness the sacred moments of story-telling, and to take muskrats story and truth to the next seven generations. Beaver, the symbol of wisdom, wisely takes rest from work to invest in the gifts of story time.
